10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Zero... Go! In 2006, the sixth ENIGMA-soundship “A Posteriori” embarked on a new musical journey of discovery. The Latin title  translates to „based on experience, empirical“, and this aptly reflects the theme of this album.

Based on the combined experience of the five previous albums, Michael Cretu decided to explore new galaxies with his ENIGMA space-ship. Each song represents a different stage of this intergalactic sound-trip that lasts more than 50 minutes. “A Posteriori” focuses on the phenomena of the universe drawing the listener’s attention to the present state of humanity.

The single release "Goodbye Milky Way”, for example proclaims – based on scientific findings - that our galaxy will cease to exist: "In 5 billion years the Andromeda galaxy will collide with our milky way... A new gigantic cosmic world will be born."

Despite this seemingly dark undertone, a message of hope resonates throughout the album. Hope that drives mastermind Michael Cretu time and again: "For a better world without hate, follow your heart, believe in fate, only visions and the mind will guide you to the light."

“A Posteriori” is the sixth of the seven Engima albums released to date: “MCMXC a.D.”, “The Cross Of Changes”, “Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi!”, “The Screen Behind the Mirror”, “Voyageur”, “A Posteriori” and “Seven Lives Many Faces”.

"Without this "funny" instrument called 'Synthesizer', today I will be probably a conductor of a symphonic orchestra, but the Mini-Moog brought me to pop music. I always dreamed about doing a complete synthesized album, but not that cold like it was in the early days. So I decided to make a "humanized, synthesized album".

I knew from the beginning, that my intention can just be realized in surround mode. If you listen to the DVD, you will really understand, what "A Posteriori" is - also combined with the modern, psychedelic graphics. If you compare it to the stereo version, it is like if I have just one arm, instead of two."
