The Fall of a Rebel Angel

In 2016 Enigma returned with its most ambitious narrative work to date. The Fall of a Rebel Angel is a concept album in the truest sense: twelve tracks structured as a continuous philosophical journey, drawing on the ancient mythology of Lucifer’s fall as a metaphor for the individual’s path through doubt, rebellion, and self-realisation. The album is accompanied by a narrative written by Grammy Award winner Michael Kunze and paintings by Wolfgang Beltracchi.

Sadeness (Part II), sung by Indonesian-French vocalist Anggun, returns to the project’s debut single Sadeness (Part I), a reflection, more than twenty years later, on the paradox of the sacred and the sensual. The closing track Amen, featuring British pop duo Aquilo, completes Enigma’s eighth circle with a meditation on redemption and hope for a better life.
